SIG Announces the Launch of the SIG Innovation Accelerator (SIA) to Empower Corporate Leaders to Create the Future of Procurement
SIA’s multi-industry Leadership Council includes executives from ADP, BNY Mellon, Boeing, Guidewell, Honda, Huntington Bank, Moody’s, Nordstrom, Weyerhaeuser and others

SIG, the premier membership organization for sourcing, procurement and outsourcing executives, today announces the launch of the SIG Innovation Accelerator (SIA), which empowers the leaders of major buy-side companies and providers of innovative products to create the future of Procurement.
The SIA facilitates innovation within SIG’s members and leverages the ideas, experience and buying power of its’ globally-recognized member corporations to create and support new products for Source through Supply Chain (SSC) and apply these to improve profit and manage risks. Unlike traditional business accelerators that begin with products seeking a market, SIA’s unique model begins with the needs and product ideas generated by the Chief Procurement Officers (CPOs) of participating Fortune 500 companies.
SIA formally launched in December 2017 in New York City and Seattle with inaugural ideation and planning meetings of its Leadership Council, comprised of 24 procurement executives representing a number of the world’s largest companies. Over 30 product ideas and needs were generated by the Leadership Council, with a mandate for SIA to find the most qualified providers or—where gaps exist—further define and potentially facilitate development of new products.
To help ensure robust innovation within the SSC pipeline, SIA will work with select mid-and early-stage providers to help bring innovative products to market. Services for these companies include coaching to help with product considerations and requirements, custom buyer executive focus groups, exposure to F1000 buy-side procurement organizations and proof of concept opportunities within member companies.
